Formats

How exchange works?

First, as a web publisher, you need to add site's units with exchange rate more than zero. Then, as an advertiser, you need to add a special campaign of «Exchange» type, which will accumulate returning clicks. You’ll be able to spend them, when no less than 100 clicks are accumulated.

What is difference between 1st and 2nd level referrals?

1st level referrals are those, who joined using your link, and 2nd level referrals joined using links, provided by 1st level referrals. We are providing lifetime payments of 20% of system's profit for 1st level referrals and 6% lifetime payments for 2nd level.

How can I see my referrals login list? How can I contact them?

You can see their logins by using "Report by users" in "Affiliate program" section. We do not provide partner's contacts due to confidentiality reasons.

What is TrafBack URL?

TrafBack's URL is the URL of the site we will use to redirect unsolicited traffic, that we are not going to pay for. You can set up any site you like.

How to change my profile credentials?

You can do such changes in the appropriate tabs in the "Profile" menu.

How it works?

Advertiser adds teaser and it starts rotating in our network right after. All ads are checked manually for inappropriate and forbidden content. Each time a page is loading we conduct an auction among advertisers to choose ads with best bid/click ratio. You can see the number of auctions you have win in the advertiser's report.

What is prohibited?

How does automatic top-up works?

Automatic top-up allows you to refill your advertiser's account when it drops below the set limit. You can set up the max limits, so the automatic top-up feature will stop when reaching it.

Where are my advertising campaigns?

You can find your campaigns on advertiser's dashboard, right below the report's main diagram.

Campaign types

  1. CPC (pay per click) - pay for the visitor that clicked your ad
  2. Exchange (traffic exchange) is a process of exchanging traffic with other web publishers. To participate you need to add at least one site's unit with exchange rate more than zero.
  3. CPA (pay per action) - pay for any type of action made by visitor, like registration, purchase, file download, form filling or visiting target page.
  4. Non-teaser formats are those, that transit visitor to advertiser's site on his first click anywhere in the original site. This formats does not require screen space.
    • ClickUnder — advertiser's site will be open on visitor's first click anywhere in the original site.
    • Mobile Blind — is an ad format, that redirects visitor right to advertiser’s site, so the visitor doesn’t notice it. Due to the technical advances of our solution this does not affect organic search position. Works only with mobile sites.
    • Lite Blind — advertiser's site will be open on visitor's first click anywhere in the original site, while publisher's site will be left open in background tab.

How long does it take to check campaign/teaser?

How to pass site/teasers ID?

You can check "Pass parameters in the link (macros and UTM_tags)" option on "Tracking" tab in campaign's settings and choose the parameters you need.

Payments types

  1. Fixed payment:
    Good for registrations, questionnaires, single actions or their sequences. Prices are in rubles.
  2. Percent from sales revenues:
    Prices are set in percents, can be confirmed with XML only.

Confirmation types

  1. Automatically:
    It is required to put script on final page to confirm action automatically.
  2. XML confirmation:
    To record order's status it is required to add link to XML report generator on the order's success page. Add script that confirms this action automatically on the results page. The script can be found in campaign's list by pushing appropriate button in the "Manage" section.

Why do I need PostBack?

PostBack is used to track conversions and to provide detailed information which parameters have greatest impact on your profit. A unique user ID (uid) is to be passed to advertiser's site on click, so it can return data on conversion and profit, using this ID. When the data is collected, you'll be able to evaluate conversion for each target option and site to maximize campaign effectiveness.

There are two ways to inform about action accomplishment:

  1. PostBack (s2s, server-to-server, call for the following link):
    http://c.visitweb.com/c?l&uid=[uid]&m=[earned]
  2. Pixel (place on page, that is shown to user after successful payment)

where [uid] is the value, passed to your server, and [earned] — amount, earned from visitor's purchase (in rubles).

Programming skills are required to configure PostBack correctly.

I want to set unique link with PostBack to every ad. Is it possible?

Yes, you can do this. First, do not agree to change ads' links to uniform campaign's link when turning PostBack on. Then, add uid={UID} in the end of the line or &uid={UID} (if there any other parameters set in the link) to every single link manually. Please note, that programming skills are required to configure PostBack correctly.

How can I change campaign type?

You cannot change campaign type. Please, create and set up new campaign to change type.

How can I change campaign category?

You cannot change category after campaign was saved. Please, create and set up new campaign to change category.

Why tables in report on transitions does not match with graph on targeting settings page?

Graph on "Targeting" tab use data from previous month and gives just a rough expectations.

What is "day limit"? Does it correspond to the 24-hour period or just daytime?

Day limit allows to restrain transitions to your site to a particular amount. It applies to the whole 24 hours.

Why I get more clicks than I have set in "day limit"?

This may happen due to delay in statistic synchronization.

What is "click number"?

Click number is a sequential number of user transition from our system’s teaser.

Why can't I generate teasers? What is "*-marked category"?

You can generate ads only in categories marked with asterisk, e.g. dating *. This categories gives you an opportunity to use ready-made sets of teasers with a 30% discount per click price.

How can I upload image for the second time?

You have to upload unique images to the system.

How can I restrict particular site from showing my ads?

You can use black and white lists, available in "Sources lists" section. Use black lists to exclude sites, and add sites you want to use for your campaign to white lists.

I've added site to black list, but it still used in the campaign. How is it possible?

Check if you have taken URL of the site from VisitWeb transitions report, not from any external source.

How to apply black/white list to a particular campaign?

Go to "Sources lists" section in Advertiser's menu and choose campaign in "Apply to" drop-down menu of the list settings’ window (see ).

Web publisher’s questions

How it works?

Web publisher places code of our attractive unit on his site. Publisher gets profit as advertiser's teasers inside this units are shown and clicked by visitors of the site.

Do you guarantee continuous work of your system?

We compensate losses in case of force-majeure and any interruptions.

What is prohibited?

  • Breaking of laws of Russian Federation.
  • Sites that have less than 50 hosts a day.
  • Sites with stat’s counters (Yandex.Metrika, Google Analytics, Liveinternet.ru or Top.mail.ru) not installed or passwords for access to the reports not provided.
  • Spam, active advertising systems, click-clubs, program emulators, and any enforcement of users to click on ads, misguiding and other fraudulent activity.
  • Installing code in non-registered sites, code modification, manipulating of content in units, whole or partial hiding of ads, installing code into a frame.

System administration has right to ban web publisher's account if found any of the listed violations, with funds returned to advertisers. In case of fraudulent activity account cannot be restored.

Pricing policy

Web publisher cannot set minimal click price. Advertisers make their bids, which cannot be less than recommended system’s minimal price. Final price of the click is determined at auction, where bids depends on the ad’s content, site category, economy and market situation, demand on specific goods or services etc. Price are unstable and can change throughout the day. Factors, that affect prices most strongly are visitor’s geo, platform, telecom operator and text presence in teaser.

How to grow your profit

Your profit directly depends on how clickable will be teasers on your site. Teasers should not always strictly correspond to site content, so you can choose related categories. It is important to design unit, so it will draw visitor's attention, not alienate him. If you design and place unit correctly it could impact you revenues dramatically. Learn how different settings work and use them to appeal to visitors: rotate teasers, zoom images when mouse is over it, use borders, pause animations etc. Sometimes these simple approaches can increase profits several times. Also, you can get additional profit by taking part in our affiliate program and recruiting new publishers and advertisers, who are not yet aware of VisitWeb advantageous.

How to design unit

  • Unit should be an organic part of site's design, not just a separate element. We recommend you to use same color palette as site's major design, so it looks natural. You can also use contrasting colors if it won't be used to unit only and won't make the page embarrassing.
  • Test different placements of unit, so you can find most profitable places. Change it's screen placement and size regularly, as visitor's become accustomed to the unit's appearance.
  • We recommend you to test different sizes to define the optimal size of ad unit. You can choose from most popular and profitable sizes, if you not sure which one suits your site best.
  • Choose right number of units. It is better to place ad units on more pages than to put too much advertising on single page. Major part of page should be free of advertising, as users can be embarrassed with cluttering and will also start to avoid viewing the page’s original content.
  • Analyze reports to find most profitable units.
  • Place ad units on popular pages of the site.

How can I withdraw money?

Выплаты производятся раз в день, за исключением выходных и праздников РФ, по запросу. Каждый день обрабатываются заявки, поданные до 04:00 MSK этого дня. Выплату можно заказать в кабинете. Минималка от 15 руб.

What fee do you take for withdrawal or for transfer from publisher's to advertiser's account?

We do not take fee for money withdrawal from the webmaster's account to wallets. We also pay 3% bonus when you transfer money from webmaster's to advertiser's account. We take 3% for withdrawing money from advertiser's account to wallets.

Where is the sites list and how can I add a new one?

You can find sites list at the bottom of "Web publisher" main page, under the main report's graph. You can add site by clicking "Add site" in the upper right corner of sites list.

Is it possible to use domain parking with VisitWeb?

Yes, domain parking is possible and it is also needed to bypass ad blockers. To park your domain you need to:

  1. Add record your.domain.of.any.level CNAME v.visitweb.com to domain DNS settings.
    This records usually can be changed in advanced settings section of administrative panel of your registrar.
  2. Change our domain name in unit code to your.domain.of.any.level

What is XML-unit?

Use XML-unit to embed in apps and other systems. You have to notify helpdesk how do you plan to use XM code before start, so there won't be any misunderstanding.

When loading ad unit on your server’s side you have to transit us client’s IP-address using GET parameter of IP and HTTP_USER_AGENT and HTTP_REFERER in the appropriate HTTP headers. All these parameters should be activated separately for each site, so please notify helpdesk before adding new site.

What is "advanced PHP code"?

It is another way to bypass ad blockers by using server-to-server code. You need to enable PHP or another server-side language on your site server. If you use PHP-executable file (usually the one with *.php extension) then put the following code to the place where you want to show ad unit:

Where XXXXX is the ID of your ad unit.

To get the code with real ID go to site settings page and open "Code insertion" tab. Press the button "Unit code" and then choose "Recommended code (PHP)" in the opened window.

Check that your CMS allows to execute PHP code, before trying to install this code using admin panel of your CMS. For example, in Drupal you can use PHP Filter module, while for Wordpress popular choice is Exec-PHP.

Please, do not forget to adjust security settings in a way preventing your server from executing PHP code by visitors.

Other approach

If you use HTML-code, then create file with extension .php, for example vw.php with text:

Where XXXXX is the ID of your ad unit.

To get the code with real ID go to site settings page and open "Code insertion" tab. Press the button "Unit code" and then choose "Recommended code (PHP)" in the opened window.

Do not call file em>ad.php or ads.php, and do not use ad/ads in folders' names. Copy this file to your server (for example in YourServer.com/js/vw.php).

Link this file as a plain external Javascript resource:

Put path to the file in src right as you do with common Javascript files.

If you use another language, you need to adapt code to the appropriate platform.

I can't find out how to withdraw funds, where can I do this?

You can find "Withdraw" button in "Balance" section of the main menu.

I changed the domain name of my site. Where can I change it in my site settings?

Change of domain name is not supported, you should add new site.

What is "variants" and "A/B-testing"?

A/B-testing helps you to test different unit settings to define which settings provide best CTR results. Variants are units, that have different settings. System will rotate these variants evenly on the same place on page/screen and analyze the results for each. When system finds best performing unit it starts to show it more often to get most of the profit. Please note, that there should be at least 1000 impressions of each variant per week, for correct estimations.

How to adjust outline and style of my unit?

You can adjust unit design in "A/B testing variants" window by clicking the pic in unit settings. "A/B testing variants" window can be opened by clicking on pic in the "Variants" column.

How can I preview my customized unit design?

You can view the appearance of unit by clicking the "Preview" button in the upper right corner of unit design settings page. Further changes can be made while keeping the preview window open and these changes will be shown automatically.

How to copy variant's settings to another unit on my site?

You can duplicate variant by importing settings of the existing unit. First, you need to open "A/B-testing variants" window by clicking on icon in "Variants" column and then copy settings by clicking icon of the appropriate unit variant. Second, you should open the "Import" window by clicking the button in the upper right corner of the same "A/B-testing variants" window and paste the settings to the textbox (by pressing Ctrl + V or using "Paste" item of right-click menu). The duplicated unit will be placed last in the variants' list.

I've installed code on site and visual check shows everything is OK. But code check status is "Unit not installed or got no impressions". How is it possible?

This is possible due to delays in synchronization. Please, wait for 15-20 minutes and check the status again.

How can filters help web publisher?

In this section publisher can create a list of his own stopwords, to prevent showing teasers with these words in headers.
